Vietimme 10 päivän kesäloman Muoniossa vanhempieni luona ja mökillä. Kalastettiin niin järvellä, joella kuin merelläkin Norjan Skibotnissa saakka. Kendo sai nauttia lenkkeilystä vapaana kaukana autoista ja muista ihmisistä. Oli ihanaa nähdä, miten hyvin se tulee luokse kun kutsuu, ei mitään ongelmia. Äitini kolme vanhaa belgianpaimenkoira tervuerenia piti Kendolle kovaa koulua. Hetken jo ehdimme iloita koiramme aikuistumisesta, mutta kun tulimme kotiin, poika palasi samaan rasavilliin päivärytmiinsä. Voi hitsi...

Nedi pääsi leikkimään siskoni Eino-kissan kanssa, ja hän saakin nyt pitää siellä isoissa tiloissa pidemmän loman, sillä Kendo kiusaa Nediä yhä kotona ja meillä on muuttohässäkkäkin edessä nyt, joten stressiä riittäisi. Herra siperiankissa oli Muoniossa iloisempi ja energisempi kuin kotona pitkään aikaan. Silti jo ensimmäisenä yönä ilman Nediä jalkopäässä tuli iso itku.

We spent our 10 day vacation in Muonio at my parent's place and summer cottage. We fished in a lake, in a river and even all the way in the sea in Skibotn, Norway. Kendo got to enjoy running free, away from any traffic or other people. It was wonderful to see how well he comes when called, no problem. My mother's three old Belgian shepherd tervueren ladies taught Kendo some manners. We were cheering too soon about Kendo becoming such an elegant adult... back at home he went back to his restless teenage self. Dammit...

Nedi got to play with my sister's cat Eino, and he gets to have a longer vacation there in a big house now, because Kendo still teases him and we're moving on the 15th of August, so there's a lot of stress ahead. Mister Siberian cat was much happier and more joyful in Muonio than he's been at home lately. Still, the first night here without Nedi got me crying big time.

Who says old dogs don't play? Our 12 year old Macy and 8 year olds Cara and Cindy still have energy.

Meillä menee oikein mukavasti. Ollaan käytetty Kendoa uimassa kuumimpina päivinä. Kendon mielestä uiminen on kivaa, ja varsinkin matalassa vedessä pyöriskeleminen kun saa turkkinsa ihan hiekkaiseksi : D. Kendo on nyt 6 kuukauden ikäinen ja painaa 21 kiloa, eli kasvutahti on hieman hidastunut, niinkuin oletimmekin. Nedi nauttii kesäpäivistä nukkumalla avoinaisen ikkunaluukun vieressä, ja herrasta lähtee paljon karvaa. Niin, ja pitää vielä mainita, että Nedi on nykyään pappa, kun poikansa Amur on ollut ahkerana ;).

We're doing just fine here. We've taken Kendo to swim on the hottest days, and he likes it very very much. He likes to roll in the shallow water and get all dirty : D. Kendo is now 6 months old and weights 21 kilos, so his growth has slowed down a bit as expected. Nedi enjoys the summer days sleeping next to the open window, and he is losing a lot of hair. Oh, and Nedi is a granpa nowadays, his son Amur has been busy ;).

Tänään kävin Kendon kanssa kävelyllä Surku-kissani haudalla. Ajankohta oli mitä parhain, sillä Surku on haudattu kirsikkapuun alle, ja se on juuri nyt kukassa. Yritin ottaa kunnollisen sivuprofiilikuvan Kendosta ja sain muutaman ihan kivan. Kendo ei syönyt eilen, eikä tänäänkään ruoka ole maistunut. Johtunee hampaidenlähdöstä?? Toivottavasti tämä päiväkävely piristi!

Today I visited my cat Surku's (a.k.a Sorrow) grave with Kendo. Our timing was perfect, for the cherry tree that Surku is buried under was in full blossom. I tried to take a good side profile picture of Kendo and I think I got some nice ones. Kendo didn't eat yesterday and hasn't been eating today either, maybe because he is losing teeth?? Hopefully our little daytime walk cheered him up!

Pusu isiltä- A kiss from daddy

Pusu taisi olla kutittavaa sorttia -- An itchy kiss I guess?

- Kendo on alkanut harjoitella jalan nostamista pissatessa. Hän osaa myös säästää pissaa useammalle kerralle.

- Kendolla on uusi hieno kaulapanta, joka mätsää täydellisesti Kendon lyhyemmän hihnan kanssa.

- Kendo painaa noin 18 kiloa. (Ikää 5 kk)

- Kendolta on tässä muutaman päivän aikana pudonnut jo monta hammasta. Yksi löytyi lattialta ja on tallessa.

- Huomenna on Nedin syntymäpäivä, hän täyttää 3 vuotta. Saa nähdä mitä kivaa keksitään.

- Kendo has started to lift his leg when peeing. He also knows how to stop the pee so he can pee in many different places.

- Kendo has a brand new collar. It's beautiful and matches perfectly with his shorter leash.

- Kendo weights about 18 kilos. (5 months old)

- During these past couple of days Kendo has lost many teeth. One of them was found on the floor and we have saved it.

- It's Nedi's birthday tomorrow. He turns 3. Let's see what kind of fun we come up with for him.

Viime perjantaina olimme ystäviemme Jullen ja Tomin kanssa grillaamassa. Kendo oli mukana, mutta Kenraali Nedi jäi vartioimaan tukikohtaa. Ilta sujui rattoisasti ja Kendokin sai maistaa vähän makkaraa, minkä lisäksi poika nakersi myös männynkävyn.

Oikein hyvin on taas kaikki sujunut. Kendo oppii ja hoksaa todella nopeasti. Ystävääni Ainoa Kendo kylläkin kiusasi hampaillaan, ja vieraiden ihmisten kanssa käyttäytymistä pitää vielä treenata. Kendo on sen verran rohkea, että vaatii hieman kovempaa kuria. Eilen imuroin ensimmäistä kertaa niin, että Kendo oli sisällä, ja hän vain päätti asettua makuulle hurisevan imurin kylkeä vasten! Koska koirapoika oli tiellä, päätin imuroida tarmokkaasti sen hännänkin alta, jotta se siirtyisi, mutta jätkä ei kyllä eväänsä väräyttänyt.

Last Friday we were at a barbeque with our friends Julle and Tomi. Kendo came with us, while General Nedi stayed at homing guarding the base. We had a nice time and Kendo got to taste some sausage too, and he also ate a pine cone...

Everything has gone very well. Kendo learns things quickly. My friend Aino didn't get as nice treatment as others for unknown  reasons: Kendo kept on trying to rip her clothes! So, still have to practise behaving with guests. Kendo is such a brave and confident boy that he needs strict handling. Yesterday I vacuumed the house so that Kendo was inside, for the first time. He just layed down and leaned on the noisy machine! Because he was in the way, I tried to push him further by vacuuming under his tail but this lil' fella didn't even blink his eye.
